The Atlanta Fed’s Business Inflation Expectations Survey put the reading at 2.0% for June, the Same as in May and in line with the numbers for 2019 to-date. The 2.0% expectation matches the Fed’s 2% objective and suggests that businesses are very much where they have been for the past 18 months regarding inflation and inflation pressures. Short-term influences like energy costs may lead to a tick or two up or down, but overall conditions are reasonably steady.
